Terms & Conditions:
Paying Premiums:
You must pay any fee to your bank or charges when you pay the premium. We’ll only say we’ve gotten your premium after we’ve finished everything we have to do according to business, legal, and rule requirements. We might not accept your premium if it breaks any rules about money laundering or other laws that matter in the United Arab Emirates, the Isle of Man, or any other important place. If the premium is lesser than the prescribed regular premium, we might still take it, and we’ll only use the premium to figure out how many units to add to your unit account.
Increase To Regular Premiums:
You can make your regular payments in larger amounts either by consulting us or through your financial advisor. Depending on how much you want to increase them, we might need more details, which will be informed to you when the situation arises.
Once we get and agree to your request, the first high-pay premium payment will be due on the next payment date. If your policy includes the Waiver of Premium Benefit, making your regular premiums in larger amounts will also increase the amount of insurance benefits. It might need more proof of your health to get insurance, as we’ll explain when needed. After it is verified, we’ll either:
- Increase the benefit average rates,
- Increase the benefit special terms, or
- Delay or postpone the benefit.
Decrease In Regular Premium:
You can request to lower your usual premium by contacting us directly or through your financial advisor. Any decrease in payment has to follow the smallest payment allowed at that moment, which you can find out by contacting us. Once we get and agree to your request, the first reduced payment will be due on the next payment date. If your policy includes the Waiver of the Premium Benefit, the benefit charge will be reduced according to the new payment amount.
Additional Single Premiums:
You can make an extra payment as a single premium whenever you want. Still, you must follow the rules outlined in the Policy Terms and Conditions and meet any minimum payment amounts required at that moment.
Reviewable Premiums:
On the policy’s fifth anniversary, we’ll recheck the premium amount to see how long it will continue to cover the benefits and after which we’ll review the premium every year.
Stopping Regular Premiums:
If you no longer pay your regular premiums as your policy has a policy value, making your policy to become “Paid Up”. If your policy has a Waiver of Premium Benefit, the benefits will stop but the benefit charge won’t be removed. However, benefits other than premium will stay, and charges will be taken out while the policy is “Paid Up”. If the Policy Value drops to zero, a Paid-Up policy will end, and all benefits will stop.
Restarting Regular Premiums:
You can begin paying regular premiums again by contacting us directly or through your financial advisor. We might need some information from you, and we’ll tell you what we need now as you are restarting your premium. Once we accept your request, the next regular premium will be due on the next premium due date.
You can decide to pay any regular premiums you missed before, and we’ll allocate units to your unit account based on the next available price. If you had a Waiver of Premium Benefit before and want to bring it back, or if you want to add it to your policy, we’ll need more evidence of your health and other underwritten information. You’ll have to provide this information at your own expense. We’ll review the evidence, and we have the complete authority to:
- Include this benefit at regular rates, or
- Include this benefit at special terms, or
- Delay or reject this benefit.
